This is why I love baseball..

The Angels won the 2009 AL West Title! Woo hoo! :D You can read about it on my VitaminOC.com post here! I am excited, and eager to see what will happen in the post season.

Someone today asked me why I liked baseball so much…

To me, baseball is the chess of athletic competition. It has no time limit, and the slow pace is what makes it great.  Baseball is not like other sports where the team that is in the lead can stall on the ball until the clock runs out of time. The only way you can win or loose is by playing! The next move is always unknown, and the anticipation of what is going to happen next is amazing. Similar to chess, baseball has so many pieces that can be used in the field and sometimes the minor moves turn into the game winning plays.

Slow paced action also gives you time to reflect on the previous play or on the next move. But even when it seems to be going slow, there is so much going on! There are rivalries behind the scenes and there are managers formulating strategies. Superstitions are lurking within the fans and the players. Oh and  there is nothing better for a baseball fan than to have your thoughts interrupted by the sound of the bat hitting a fastball or watching a-would- be hommer caught by a leaping outfielder.

Why do I like baseball so much you ask?

Because baseball is a game of anticipation. Baseball is a game of strategy, calculation and athletic skill. Baseball is a game of history and rivalries!

That is why I have become the box scores reading, pitching critic, stats following, rally monkey lover that I am now!

Bring on the post season! The Angels are ready for the Red Sox! :D

Yesterday = Awesome!

Just a few days ago I posted about how excited I was to go to Blogworld in Las Vegas next month and yesterday it got 100X more exciting for me. I saw @blogworld tweet about getting free tickets to a Cirque Du Soleil show while at blogworld in exchange for a review on your blog. I decided to apply to review Beatles LOVE for VitaminOC.com because I have been dying to see that show for a very long time... and guess what? I got it!! yay! I hope that I get to see the show with other bloggers and get to meet some new and interesting people at the show.

Also, yesterday was Twestival OC! I had a great time with all of the OC tweeps! The food and venue @oranghill provided were awesome! and the musicians and comedians were great! It was a really great event! I even got interviewed by @tednguyen hehe! I believe that 3k was raised for the Orange Wood Foundation in Orange County. It was amazing to see the community come together for a great cause.  Some of the bidding for the auction got intense! I met some great people and have a new love for Stacey Clark's music. If this is OC's first Twestival, I wonder what will come next year! I am sure that we will have a full detailed post of Twestival OC on VitaminOC very soon!

Yes Man!

Haha I watched Yes Man this weekend and it was awesome! :D Not only is it one of Jim Carrey's best movies (in my opinion) but it actually has a nice message too. This movie got me thinking though, why don't I say "Yes" to more things?? I say that I am the type of person that likes taking on opportunities that are presented to me, but in reality when I reflect on my daily life- I say "No" alot more than "Yes." This doesn't mean that I am going to start saying "Yes" to everything in life now, but its interesting to think about what opportunities I am missing out on by saying "No"

Im going to blogworld!
